Pushkar
a small, magical, desert edge town having area of 16.34 sq. km
at an average elevation of 1673 ft which is in the state of Rajasthan
in
India
with
the population of 14,789.
This small city is situated 14 Km from Ajmer
and is one of the five sacred pilgrimage sites for devout Hindus
which is often called as "Tirth Raj" and has
became popular destination for foreign tourists recently.
Pushkar is one of the oldest places of India. The date of its
actual founding is not known, but legend associates Lord Brahma
with its creation. Pushkar boast for the India's only Brahma
temple among the very few in the world
Pushkara
was mentioned on the Holy Ramayan which states that Vishvamitra
performed tapa (the
scared religious chanting) at Pushkar which further
states that Apsara (Angel) Menaka came to take the bath at the
scared water.
